"Wies´n" at Lechfeld
The traditional family day for families and friends of the Fighter – Bomber - Wing 32 (FBW32) at Lechfeld airbase also took place this year. At one afternoon end of September the wing hosted along the lines of the original in Munich a small Oktoberfest - the old maintenance hangar converts to a large party tent.
The only flying activities of the day took place in the morning, unfortunately at very foggy weather conditions and not open for public. Thanks to the public relations of FBW32, who allowed us to take these pictures of the regular traffic, we could show some Tornados in action. Due to the weather some visitor jets couldn´t fly-in, but at the end for the main event the weather was just perfect.
The visitors could enjoy a static display, with the two special painted ECR Tornado, Typhoons, some other German Air Force stuff and very good Bavarian food and of course beer. The hospitality of the FBW32 once more was very enjoyable and a lot of happy and satisfied people went home after some nice hours.
